That weird gym-smell

That weird gym-smell

Last night i worked out a little bit (WOW! i know, that's a miracle, you would say...);

Since i'm in consulting, i hardly ever get time to work out; if i ever have some spare time, i would just hang out with my girlfriend (if i'm home) or just lay back and watch some DVD's.

But now i have a firm commitment of exercising regularly... so, last night i went down to the hotel gym and ran for 18 minutes, then went on the bike for 5 minutes... it feels sooooo good that right after you take a shower, you feel a bit tired, and a little bit loose, you know, relaxed... oh it feels great...

Well, i realized last night, that all gyms smell the same, and i hate it! i hate that "gym" smell... it's like the way hospitals smell, it's not nice, it's not bad, but i hate that every single one smells the same...

I guess it took me back to the gruesome days like 4 years ago when i went to the gym to work out, but really work out, you know, weights and all that, not just running and pedalling... that painful routine of eating a lot of protein, and those awful super-dense (and extremely expensive) milkshakes, and all the gatorade, and all the tuna... aaaggghh, hate the memories... those 3 months were not good at all... i did get a better body, got out of being a skinny boy and became a "regular, well-toned" guy... hehe... or so i would think...

But anyways, that smell, reminds me of all the 2 hour routines that i had, daily at the gym.

It seems that there's just something ubiquitous about all the gyms across the world, u know, the fake promises of looking better, thinner, healthier... all the self-shame accumulated in one place, with all the white-colored apparatus lined up into place, and again... that smell!

Really, last night when i just got into the gym, smelled that particular smell, and right there, i just felt tired... and my mind went someplace else, displaced itself to go on someplace better, just left my body there, to the gruesome tasks of body-building...

then it just hit me... these people here feel just like me, that they need the look/feel better about themselves and their body/athlethic condition... that's a bit awkward, in a way, it's like a AA meeting, but in a good way... at least you can share it proudly...

And don't even get me started on the gym-fanatics and gay guys hitting on straight guys at gyms... a whole 'nother story...

Well, as you could see, all this triggered on my mind just because of that weird gym-smell...

I guess i'll have to live with it... lets just hope i can keep it up...

cheers!

Ahead the wave...

Well, I finally got my hands on a couple of the Stand Up, Speak Up, Nike wristbands, waaaay before people even get to know about them here in this continent...

as you should know, these wristbands are a smashing hit down at europe, they are sold out as soon as they hit the stores... and they are also, a bit overpriced, don't you think so?

eventually, as always happens, these wristbands will be a hit over here also, but not in a month or two from now, at least...

so, as you can say, i'm a little bit ahead the wave... feels cool... hehe

chaco: i'm sorry man, i know you're sad because you still don't get yours on the mail (or do you?...) gotcha!

c ya!

Fun by the hour...

Fun by the hour…

Last night a bunch friends and I went to Dave & Buster's.

We had a decent dinner and some beers and then played a while on the arcades. I bought 1 hour of gameplay for about $9dlls, that means you can swipe your card on the arcades once each minute, that gives you max 60 credits, quite a lot.

I almost finished the "Time Crisis 3" shooter, and also played a lot of Mo-Cap Box... MAN that got me tired! We finished that one... hehe... That game made me realice that I need to start working out, because I have no athletic condition... AT ALL!!!

This consulting job, travelling around all the time, every single week, doesn't live much space to exercise, but anyway, I HAVE to make me some time available... it's up tome now... let's see if i can keep it up...

Anyway's... i'm flying home tonight, it feels sooooo good, being able to spend some time with my girl and my family, let's just hope we don't catch any turbulence on the way home... see you there!

Stuck in the elevator... ephimerous hero

Stuck in the elevator... ephimerous hero

Good moorning... as everybody should say... NNNOOOOTTTTT!!!!

I got up, took a shower, head on to the hotel lobby i'm staying in,
and the elevator door starts closing veeeerrrrrryyyyyy slowly, and
then opens up again... it does this a couple of times and finally
closes the fourth... i'm going down to the lobby... and then the
elevator jumps a little bit, kind of awkard, like a hicup, and then
goes up to the 20th floor... What the hell! I was going down! not
up!... well... a couple guys come in... starts going down again...
stop at 19th and two more get it... door closes, goes down a little
bit... another little jump, and suddenly it stops moving, at all...

This is the first time i got stuck in an elevator... i pressed the
alarm button, and the one to call the operator, told the lady we were
stuck apparently at floor 17, because that was what the elevator said,
and she told me that the maintenance guys were on their way...

Five minutes later, no answer at all... one of the guys tries to open
the doors, but it can't, he really even tried that hard...

Ten more minutes and no answer... we try calling the operator again,
no anwer this time...

After 20 minutes of being stuck, i reach the doors, get a grab on
them, and start to pull them open... as i'm opening them, i realize
we're like 1 foot below the 19th floor, so we get out, and i'm the
hero, of course, everybody thanks me... i guess we could have benn
there for an hour...

Of course i went to complain to the manager, but he wasn't there, so i
wined at the assistant, and he was taking it like it was no big
deal... i got really pissed off, ánd late, so i got out and took a
cab... i'll go back to the manager tonight...

Well, to pop the cherry on my cake, traffic was insane, i got to work
1 hour late...

Nice way to start up the day... but anyway... i was a hero... at least
for a while...

For now, they won't be available on this side of the world, so, yo can try to snatch one over @ Ebay... man! they are pricey!

Leaving town...

It sucks that right after college, a lot of your best friends leave town to take on a job or to get a masters degree, most of them, even out of the country.
It sucks that right when you are hanging a lot with them and building a stronger friendship, they just vanish... sucks...
Because I was getting used to seeing them, to talk to them, to have fun with them...
It's not that i'm running out of friends to hang out with, but anyways, for every single friend that leaves town, they take a piece of your heart with them...

Switch...

I just got my brand new iMac G5, with bluetooth keyboard and mice... sweeeet huh? I just got it sunday night and i barely got to do the initial setup and installed iLife 05... couldn't play more with it because i had an early flight monday, and won't be home 'till late thursday, so i'm looking forward to it... I'm eager to start building my iPhoto library, and build a couple of slideshows DVD's... alright then, i'll keep you posted...
